Dathan Auerbach was born in the United States' south. and has spent the majority of his life there. In 2011, he started posting a series of horror stories to a website dedicated to the genre. He was able to publish the edited and expanded versions of his story as the novel Penpal after a KickStarter campaign that raised almost 100% of its goal. He resides in the state of Florida.
