
Darina Allen is Ireland's most well-known culinary ambassador and the popular author of Ballymaloe Cookery Course and Lost Techniques of Cooking, which won the André Simon Award in 2009. She is a member of Slow Food Ireland and helped to establish Ireland's first farmers' market. She is the recipient of numerous honors, including the Guild of Food Journalists' Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.
