Baseball 365 Days by Joseph Wallace

"Baseball: 365 Days" is a colourful, surprising, even moving panorama of modern baseball, covering the 1960s up to the present day. Vivid, revealing images from Major League Baseball's rich photo archives trace the arc of a ballplayer's career, touching on childhood triumphs, minor-league struggles and the triumphs and tribulations of life in the Big Show itself. In lively commentaries on the photos, veteran baseball writer Joe Wallace offers facts, anecdotes and lore. It features Willie Mays, Roberto Clemente, Cal Ripken, Jr., Derek Jeter, Albert Pujols and many other beloved stars.Major League Baseball, or MLB, runs professional baseball. It has tremendous media outreach and a vast archive of both well-known and unpublished baseball photos, in colour, from which the images in this book have been chosen. Among them are rare colour photographs from the 1960s.
Joseph Wallace has written five previous baseball books, including Grand Old Game: 365 Days of Baseball, produced in conjunction with the National Baseball Hall of Fame, The Autobiography of Baseball (nominated for the Seymour Medal for Best Baseball Book of 1998) and The Baseball Anthology, all for Abrams. He is also the author of many non-fiction books on natural history, medicine and other subjects and recently contributed stories to three mystery anthologies. He lives in New York, USA.
