The Beatles 365 Days by Simon Wells
Every aspect of the evolution of The Beatles from mop tops to legends is discussed in this book, including their personal lives, performances, press conferences, recording sessions, public appearances, photo sessions, filmmaking, and more. Simon Wells' extensive, detailed captions provide exact dates, times, and places, as well as context in terms of both the band and the culture of the times. Each photograph is accompanied by a pertinent quote by one or more Beatles or an individual closely associated with the Beatles such as Brian Epstein, Beatles photographer Bob Whitaker, girlfriends and wives, Beatles driver, etc.
Simon Wells' love of the Beatles stems from 1965 when, as a three-year-old, an aunt gave him a copy of 'Day Tripper' as a Christmas present. Over the years his love for the group has provided a symbolic and inspirational backdrop to his own writing aspirations. Since committing his thoughts to paper, Simon has contributed copious features on film and music to a variety of newspapers and magazines including The Guardian, The Times, and The Beatles' Book, the group is official journal. His first book, Your Face Here - British Cult Movies Since the 1960's (HarperCollins UK, 2002) was a critical success, entering the BBC's Top Ten Books of the Year for 2001. In addition to curating a month-long season of 1960s films at the National Film Theatre in 2003, Simon is a serving on the committee to establish a memorial garden in honor of George Harrison. He lives in Sussex, England.
