Watson was the father of behaviorism. His now-revered lectures on the subject defined behaviorism as a natural science that takes the whole field of human adjustment as its own. It is the business of behaviorist psychology to predict and control human activityJohn Watson (1878-1958) was an American psychologist who formalized and popularized behaviorism in the early 1900s, making it the dominant school of psychology in the US during the 1920s and 1930s. Watson was a lecturer at the New School for Social Research and a professor of psychology at Johns Hopkins University. He also wrote Psychology From the Perspective of a Behaviorist, in addition to Behaviorism.
