Bruce Thomas was a member of the pop group "Elvis Costello and the Attractions" from 1978 to 1987. Throughout the excesses of money, drugs, alcohol and touring he attempted to keep a perspective on himself and on the purpose of existence. The result is this book, a humorous description of a world which began to make no sense to him, except through the bottom of a glass. This version of the group's touring life brings home the dilemma of having enormous amounts of money, but nothing particular to spend it on.
