The Bishop's Wife by Mette Ivie Harrison

Linda Wallheim is the mother of five grown boys and the wife of a Mormon bishop. As bishop, Kurt Wallheim is their home ward's designated spiritual father, and that makes Linda the ward's unofficial mother. One cold winter morning, a neighbour appears on the Wallheims' doorstep with his 5-year-old daughter, claiming that his wife has disappeared in the middle of the night. Kurt asks Linda not to get involved in the unfolding family saga, but she has become obsessed. Is she wrong to go against her husband, the bishop, when her inner convictions are so strong?

Mette Ivie Harrison is the author of The Princess and the Hound, Mira, Mirror, and The Monster in Me, and she says of The Princess and the Bear, I never believed there would be a sequel to The Princess and the Hound, but when I looked through the galleys, I discovered there was another book waiting in the story of the bear and the hound. Because it stands on its own as a fresh plot, you might conceive of it as a parallel novel rather than a sequel. Who knows, though.
