Bite size Fred Basset by Alex Graham

BASSET, FRED. Born, Fleet Street, 1963. Resides in suburbia with two faithful humans. Close associates: Yorky, Jock, Big Bruce. Hobbies: burying bones, frightening cats, hoping for more food. Ambition: to catch a rabbit...Fred Basset has been delighting fans for over 40 years. Now, in this special hardback collector's edition, we give the history of Fred, and reproduce some of the earliest cartoons from the life and times of Fred. Alongside reproductions of some of early rough sketches of Fred cartoons - and incorporating the first ever Fred Basset annual from 1963 - THE FRED FILES also includes an introduction from Alex Graham's daughter, who describes how Fred came about and how he is now a recognised around the world! A unique collector's edition, THE FRED FILES reveals how the nation's favourite dog has been delighting fans for nearly half a century.
Born in Scotland, Alex Graham began selling cartoons to magazines during World War II. On July 9, 1963, Graham began the comic strip with which he is most closely associated: Fred Basset. The strip still continues in the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, and a book of the Fred cartoons is published every year.
