Blood Road by Caspar Walsh

A gritty, emotional thriller about a guy on the run with his two sons. When Nick Geneva does over Vince Cracknell's place with his best mate Warren, he realises instantly they've pissed off the wrong guy. And accidentally killing his dog was not a good move. But the money they steal is Nick's ticket to a new life. With Warren in custody, and Vince, the police and his ex-wife on his heels, Nick hits the road north, taking his difficult, confused, but fiercely loyal boys with him.
'Fast-paced and packed with razor-sharp dialogue, Walsh keeps the drama and tension building to the last page' -- The News of the World 'Walsh is the authentic literary voice of British gangland. His debut novel reveals the chilly, emotionally complex world of a career criminal. By turns violent, dramatic and powerfully compassionate, Caspar Walsh's thriller neither condemns nor romanticises its subject but treats it with honesty, humanity and flashes of unsentimental humour. Here is an author to watch - and read' -- Andrew Taylor
Caspar Walsh is a regular writer for Radio 4, with broadcasts including the sixties gangster story Vincent Vices Rainbow and the acclaimed feature-length docudrama The Prison Father, which was based on his own experience of prison life. He regularly runs writing workshops both in and out of prisons that help offending fathers and their families in the rehabilitation process.
