In the past, Zakour worked as a computer programmer and web guru for Cornell University, as an EMT, and as a judo instructor.
Zakour's writing credits include thousands of gags for syndicated comics, comedians, and television shows on prime-time TV. He's the author of seven humorous science fiction novels, one of which was named the funniest science fiction book of 2001 by The Chronicle of Science Fiction. Zakour has written numerous young adult, self-help, and reference books, and optioned two TV shows and three movies. He currently writes his own syndicated comics, Working Daze and Maria's Day.
Zakour lives in upstate New York with his wife, a professor at Cornell University, and they have one son. He plays softball and competitive pickle ball, throws the javelin, and hits his punching bag daily. He also enjoys tai chi.
