Bobby the Blue-Footed Booby Gets Bullied by Sharon Bowles

Bobby, the Blue-Footed Booby Gets Bullied is a children's picture book for approximately ages 4-8. It is a story about a young bird that recently moved to a new home in the Galapagos Islands. His concerns and fears about going to a new school are realized when he meets a bully, Sally the Lightfoot Crab. With the help and wisdom of his new friend, the 105-year-old Delores the Tortoise, Bobby and his schoolmates learn why bullying is wrong and what to do when confronted with a bully.

The book is filled with information about different animal species that inhabit the Galapagos Islands, and is told with humor and compassion. The book also contains two pages of Fun Facts describing what is unique about the animals who reside there, along with some conservation information.

Bobby, the Blue-Footed Booby is the perfect read for children in our times, with its educational focus on bullying, kindness, and environmental and species awareness.

Bowles, Sharon: - Sharon Bowles, a transplanted New Yorker, was editor of the Arkansas Sun, Legislative Information Officer for the Arkansas Senate, and Assistant Director of the Arkansas Endowment for the Humanities. It was only when she started her own freelance writing business that she could devote time to her passion: animals and their conservation. As a docent for the Little Rock Zoo, she handles everything from snakes and bearded dragons to opossums, ferrets and birds of prey. She hopes to travel to the Galpagos Islands one day.
