In this manual a little bear and a little pixie accompany the pupil through the standard programme for training for and gaining a grading in judo. The guide contains over 300 sketches based on video recordings showing all the important phases of a throw. There are descriptions and summaries of the major points and the corresponding footwork for each of the throws so that the techniques can be easily understood. For older children, there are complete descriptions to read, while for the younger ones there are comic strips with speech balloons to aid comprehension. Notes, written in a rhyming form, should help the pupil to remember the steps. The volume features exercises for each step of the way to the next grade, taking account of the child's age permissable for each of them.
