Brainwaves... the First Wave by Betsy Streeter
Brainwaves. the First Wave is the first collection of cartoons by Betsy Streeter. Brainwaves is a single-panel cartoon strip about the infinite absurdity of everyday life. Streeter's work has been compared to that of Gary Larson, PS Mueller, and Benita Epstein. Brainwaves is syndicated online through ucomics.com. Streeter's cartoons appear regularly in The Funny Times as well as in numerous magazines (such as Utne and Z Magazine), papers, newsletters, and the occasional blog or refrigerator door.Betsy Streeter grew up in her family's living room, surrounded by Star Trek, The Muppet Show, Atari, and musical practices. Her penchant for making up stories and drawing and painting on anything she could get her hands on led to degrees from Stanford University in art and communication. She is the president of a community theatre and has worked in film and video production, design, and video games. She and her family are enthusiastic readers and collectors of books, music, movies, art, action figures, and musical instruments, resulting in a lack of storage space. Betsy has produced single-panel cartoons, comics, art, and short fiction in a variety of formats, including paper, digital, graffiti, and tattoos. She shares her home in Northern California with her husband, son, daughter, two strange and obnoxious cats, and a mellow but voracious tarantula.
