JOHN MINNIS is an architechtural historian with English Heritage. He has a particular interest in transport buildings and has published widely on both road and rail architecture. His other books include England's Motoring Heritage from the Air (2014) and, with Kathryn Morrison, Carscapes: the Motor Car, Architecture and Landscape in England (2012).
