Haworth and its moors are for ever linked with the name of Bronte, but they also have a fascination in their own right. Peggy Hewitt tells the story of the moors and of the people who have lived and worked there - people who are as much a product of their environment as the drystone walls and heather.
Peggy Hewitt was born and bred in the Worth valley and has lived most of her life close to the Bronte moors. Her first published work appeared in Yorkshire Life and since then she has written many articles, short stories and poems on a variety of subjects. She also runs a creative writing class. Peggy lives near Settle in North Yorkshire.
