Captain Dorkyman, The Tick Busting Superhero is a book written for young readers ten years and older. It is an educational novelette that tells the story of a retired man called Captain Mike who gains super powers and sets out with his sidekick Carmelo to teach about the dangers of Lyme disease.

Captain Mike is fishing one day and gains his super powers when he is struck by lightning by a genie named Dr. Shereef. Dr. Shereef gives Captain Mike the mission and powers to teach children and adults how to protect themselves from tick-borne illnesses, which could mean looking dorky when going outdoors. Captain Dorkyman and Carmelo set out on a magical flying bike as they help people who have Lyme disease and educate others to avoid the disease.
