Career Theory and Practice by Jane L Swanson
The authors of this book demonstrate with case examples how to apply career development theories to career counselling practice. Each chapter applies a different theory to case examples and - to provide continuity - to a fictitious 'client' constructed from many past clients of the authors.
"The text is an outstanding contribution to the field of career developmentIt provides an interactive approach to learning and conceptualizing career development theories and career counseling approaches. The text encourages practitioners and students to examine theory and incorporate theory into practice, a luxury not often afforded in a classroom setting. Swanson and Fouad have developed a text that remains useful, both in the classroom and as a tool for career development practitioners." -- Kimberly Hendry 20070118
