Caring for Your Houseplants by Peter Mchoy
There is a huge variety of houseplants available to the indoor gardener, but choosing plants that will flourish in a particular location, and at the same time provide the right decorative touch, is not always a straightforward task. This handbook seeks to reveal all the secrets of ensuring success with houseplants. Beginning with a broad look at all the different types of houseplant available - including their characteristics, care needs and best growing conditions - there then follows instruction, professional tips and step-by-step features for all the basics of houseplant care. The final chapter looks at the role of plants in the home, with ideas for table-top displays, pedestal designs, bottle gardens and terrariums.
Peter McHoy started his horticultural career as a seed analyst, but soon moved into magazine journalism so he could share his enthusiasm for plants and gardens with others. During this time he worked on several gardening magazines, both as an editor and a consultant. Peter now spends all his time writing books and running a horticultural photographic library, as well as writing regular gardening features pages for a number of magazines.
