Cat Chat by Helene Thornton
When Helene Thornton moved to a small village in Provence to write and work on her collages, an invitation to sunbathe led her to the cat Bebe, and, in turn, to Bebe's owner, Monsieur, a settled and ordered man who was unprepared for the upsets she would bring into his life. Set amidst the villages, cafes and houses of sunny Provence, this is an autobiographical love story of two people brought together by a shared affection for cats - and especially for the beautiful black-and-white Bebe - at a time in their lives when they might not expect to find new love.
Helene was born in Blackpool and lived in nine countries before setting in La Cadiere d'Azur in the Var region of Provence. She didn't own a cat until the age of 21 when she rescued a kitten hit by a car.
