During the past two decades, literary issues such as multiculturalism, gender, borders and border crossing, and the development of personal, cultural, and alternative identities have become increasingly important. The author of three books, Karin Rosa Ikas is a postdoctoral fellow and lecturer at the University of Wurzburg, Germany, in the Department of English, American, and Cultural Studies. Her graduate studies included periods as an exchange student at various universities throughout the American Southwest.
