He is the author of Interpretations of Conflict: Ethics, Pacifism, and the Just-War Tradition (1991) and Casuistry and Modern Ethics: A Poetics of Practical Reasoning (1996). He has edited War in the Twentieth Century: Sources in Theological Ethics (1993) and has written articles in social philosophy and religious ethics.
