Chinas Political System by June Teufel Dreyer
The 10th edition of Chinas Political System continues to provide all of the tools professors need to introduce their students to Chinese politics in ways that are informed, accessible and intriguing.'June Teufel Dreyer's latest edition of China’s Political System continues the high standard that has been evident in each previous editionIn a crowded field of textbooks on Chinese politics, the two areas that distinguish the best books are comprehensiveness in terms of the coverage of important topics and material that is not only up-to-date but will not become dated quickly. Dreyer has succeeded admirably on both counts, with the high quality of the new chapter on The Era of Xi Jinping and the discussion of the results of the Nineteenth Party Congress, making this the best textbook on Chinese politics currently on the market.'—Stanley Rosen, Professor of Political Science, University of Southern California
'I have assigned successive editions of June Dreyer's excellent text China's Political System for a number of years at the undergraduate level. It is well organized and clearly written, comprehensive in scope and coverage, informed by the author's historical perspectives and policy experience, and always up-to-date. A first-rate textbook on contemporary China.'—David Shambaugh, Professor of Political Science and International Affairs and Director, China Policy Program, George Washington University

'Dreyer expertly examines and provides a comprehensive, up-to-date overview of the internal and external pressures and changes and continuities that have propelled political, social, and economic developments in contemporary China. From the republican era and the rise of the Chinese communists to post-Mao reforms and China’s globalization, Dreyer surveys events, peoples, institutions, and policymaking and their implications within China and for the world.'—Roselyn Hsueh, Associate Professor, Temple University
