A Companion to Medieval Arms and Armour by David Nicolle
The primary focus of this book is on the arms and armour of Europe, but also included are neighbouring cultures where these had a direct influence on developments and changes within Europe, from late Roman cavalry armour, Byzantium and the East, to the influence of the Golden Horde.David Nicolle was born in 1944 and spent his early years working for the BBC, notably the foreign broadcasting division, before returning to university and earning his doctorate in Edinburgh. He went on to teach at Jordan's Yarmouk University. He now focuses in writing and is an expert on medieval armaments and armor. He also contributes to a number of professional journals and international conferences on a regular basis. He currently resides in Leicestershire, England.
