Dr. Duffey was the founding president of The Association for Creativity in Counseling, a division within the ACA, and she served two terms on the ACA Governing Council. Dr. Duffey is a former president of the Texas Association of Counselor Education and Supervision and executive board member for the Southern Association of Counselor Education and Supervision. Dr. Duffey is editor for the Journal of Creativity in Mental Health and she served as guest co-editor for a Journal of Counseling and Development (JCD) Special Issue on Counseling Men and the JCD Special Section on Relational-Cultural Theory. Dr. Duffey, an ACA Fellow, has received numerous awards from professional organizations such as the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, the American Counseling Association, the Texas Counseling Association, the Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, the Association for Creativity in Counseling, and the Texas Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. She has over 60 peer reviewed publications; an edited book, Creative Interventions in Grief and Loss Therapy: When the Music Stops, a Dream Dies, and a co-edited book, A Counselor's Guide to Working with Men.
