Kirby, Scott: - Scott Kirby has pastored for 14 years, leading his church to be a model missions-friendly church. In 1991, in response to the collapse of the Iron Curtain, he founded Global Partnership Ministries, an organization that partners US churches with overseas churches. An essential element of partnerships is volunteer short-term teams. As a result, Kirby has led over 3,000 Americans on 130 mission teams in Romania, Moldova, Kenya, Burkina Faso, and Alaska. Kirby holds a doctorate in ministry and serves on the advisory board of Orphan Concern International, an organization he helped found that sponsors AIDS orphans in Kenya. He is the author of Dating: Guidelines from the Bible, published in the late 1970s and still in print. Kirby has two grown children and currently makes his home in Anchorage, Alaska.
