Gogo, Thembi's great-grandmother, is so old that she never leaves the house. But when black South Africans win the vote the first time, she insists she and Thembi must go to the polling station. This story describes a milestone in South African history as seen through a child's eyes.
Elinor Sisulu is an author, human rights activist, and political analyst. She has been involved in a long list of initiatives in Zimbabwe, where she was born, South Africa, and other parts of the continent involving democracy, human rights, literacy, and education. Sharon Wilson is a Bermuda-based artist whose work has been featured at the Bermuda National Gallery as well as the Sharon Wilson Gallery. She also shares her passion with students at the Sharon Wilson School of Art. Her other books for young readers include Freedom's Gifts and The Granddad Tree.
