Dear Mrs. Roosevelt by Robert Cohen
Eleanor Roosevelt was a beloved figure among poor children, who between 1933 and 1941 wrote her thousands of letters describing their problems and requesting her help. Nearly 200 of these documents are presented here, showing how it was to be needy and young during the Depression in the USA.
ROBERT COHEN is director of the Social Studies Program in the School of Education, associate professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning, and an affiliated member of the History Department at New York University.
