Descent of the Dove by Charles Williams

Charles Williams always makes you stop and think deeply.

Charles Williams was a writer of unusual genius. He had an ability to make theological matters not merely interesting to the lay person; but to make them appear, what they in fact are, matters of Life and Death. His position is clear: The history of the church began an Pentecost and is the story of the operation of the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, on humanity. Williams reviews church history in terms of the action of the Holy Spirit, rather than the actions of humanity. The Descent of the Dove is a much needed supplement to traditional church histories.

Charles Walter Stansby Williams (1886 -1945) was a British poet, novelist, playwright, theologian and literary critic. He was a member of the Inklings and a reader for Oxford University Press.

Charles Williams is a United States Air Force Academy graduate, a former F-4 and F-16 fighter pilot, and a retired Delta Air Lines captain. He is currently the debate coach of the Niceville High School Forensics Speech and Debate Team, and the director of the Niceville Drama Department. He has been honored to receive several awards in the speech and debate community, including being named the Florida Forensics League Coach of the Year, a Diamond Coach recognized by the National Forensics League, and was inducted into the Gator Guard by the University of Florida Blue Key Speakers Bureau. He has written two comedic plays entitled I, Xombi and 13-13-13 which have been performed on stage by members of the Niceville High School Drama Department. Charles is currently working on a new project, Nor Tolerate Among Us, a novel about the Air Force Academy and the young men and women charged with upholding and enforcing the Academy's Honor Code. Look for his sequel to In Close Proximity entitled Classic Deception: The Search for Rebecca, in 2014.
