For a long time, pleasure was a sin. And the search for pleasure, especially outside of normal spheres, such as masturbation, homosexuality, etc., was considered an illness. In the past few decades society has worked to remove this stigma. Now, once again, in the name of (public or private) health, hygiene, freedom and even happiness, our personal choices are conditionned. A new conformism is taking hold, which may be having perverse effects of its own, causing its own brand of suffering, anxiety and loss of self-esteem.

What if, to rediscover the true sense of desire, responsible adults were encouraged to embrace their freedom of choice, their personal capacity to manage their own excesses, to accept their deviances, even their transgressions, all while cultivating respect for the personal freedom of others?
