Emily grew up in Oxfordshire and studied English Literature at Newcastle University, where she began writing poetry. She went on to pursue a masters in Classical Acting at Central School of Speech and Drama. She has since appeared in a range of TV and film including Doc Martin, Domina, Temple, Grantchester, A Casual Vacancy, The Thick of It, St Trinians, Midsomer Murders and the BAFTA-winning In the Flesh. Alongside acting, Emily continues to write poetry and is developing a number of ideas for TV. She also spends a lot of time pushing her daughter on the swings.
