Charles Busch is the author and star of a number of Off-Broadway hits, including The Divine Sister, The Woman in Question, Red Scare on Sunset, and Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, which is one of the longest-running shows ever. His play The Story of the Allergist's Wife received the Outer Circle Critics' John L. Award for Best Play and ran for 777 performances on Broadway. He won the Gassner Prize for playwriting and was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Play. He created and starred in the film adaptations of his plays, Psycho Beach Party and Die Mommie Die, the latter of which earned him the Sundance Film Festival's Best Performance Award. Busch got a special Drama Desk Award in 2003 for his work as a playwright and performer.

Primary States Theater in New York will stage his most recent piece, The Confession of Lily Dare, in January 2020. Busch is overjoyed to be back with L.A. The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, The Divine Sister, and Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest have all been recorded by Theater Works.
