Phil Wilson earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Aston in Birmingham, England. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in chemistry, but he preferred computers to test tubes and went on to work for Burroughs and Unisys mainframes for 15 years building operating systems. Phil began developing for Windows in the early 1990s, using MFC, ATL COM, Visual Basic, and C# as programming languages. For the past eight years, he has worked on installation design and technology, and in 2003, he was named a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional for Windows Installer. He enjoys camping in the California desert and playing and recording guitar to get away from computers.
