The Domestic Duck by Chris Ashton
One wild species is responsible for nearly all the breeds of domestic duck: the Mallard. Over centuries it has been developed into egg-laying strains, table birds and pets. In this book, the authors explain how these breeds have been developed and how to look after them.
Dr Chris Ashton and Mike Ashton have lived on a smallholding in mid-Wales since 1979, where they specialize in pure breeds of ducks and geese and have become one of the top waterfowl breeders in the UK. They gained BWA Exhibitor of the Year awards in 1987, 1996 - 1999. Chris and Mike are both BWA judges in all sections of waterfowl. Chris is the author of Domestic Geese [Crowood 1999]
