Dorrie and the Blue Witch by Patricia Coombs

Dorrie is a witch. A little witch. Her hat is always crooked and her socks never match. The Big Witch is her mother, and Gink is her very own black cat. When Dorrie is home alone one day, she decides to have a tea party with Gink the cat. But there's a knock on the door and it's the bad Blue Witch.
Patricia Coombs was born in 1926 in Los Angeles. She attained a BA and MA in English Literature at the University of Washington. Her first children's story, Dorrie's Magic, was published in 1962. It was inspired by and written for her two daughters, as were the following 28 books in the Dorrie the Little Witch series.
