He has co-edited Russian Literary Attitudes from Pushkin to Solzhenitsyn; Russian and Slavic Literature; and The Cambridge Companion to Tolstoy, as well as contributing to The Cambridge History of Russian Literature, The Age of Realism, Encyclopedia of the Novel, Reference Handbook to Russian Literature, and The Cambridge Companion to Tolstoy. He's also translated Ivan Turgenev's books, as well as Dostoevsky's An Accidental Family.
