El El Fandango De Lola (Spanish) by Anna Witte
Lola is a young Spanish girl in awe of her glamorous older sister. However, she discovers her own talent and duende, or spirit, through secret fandango lessons from her father. The text is infused with the rhythms, movements and sounds of the dance and the humanity of Lolas family is beautifully portrayed by Micha Archers collage-paintings. SpanisAnna Witte was born in Germany and brought up in Madrid, Spain. She finds inspiration for her stories in the European and Central American cultures she knows so well. She lives with her husband in Washington State, USA where she teaches Spanish and Latin American letters at the University of Washington.
Micha Archer grew up painting alongside her mother, who is a watercolor artist. Micha worked for many years as a kindergarten teacher before venturing into illustration. Her favorite media to work with are gouache, watercolor, pen and ink, and collage. She and her husband divide their time between western Massachusetts and Costa Rica.
Hailed as the "pioneers of Boston's Latin music scene" by WBUR, the Amador Family are talented musicians and bilingual voiceover artists in English and Spanish. Brian, Rosi, Alisa and Zia are based in Boston, Massachusetts, USA and work together and individually as voiceover artists.
