This new play explores Emilia Bassano, Shakespeare's `Dark Lady of the Sonnets' in her own right as poet, mother and feminist. For the first time, the focus will be on this brilliant woman who managed to outlive all the men the history books tethered her to. Introducing to the world: Emilia! She's going to make you remember her name.Morgan Lloyd Malcolm's is a playwright and screenwriter. Her play Belongings was produced at the Hampstead Theatre and Trafalgar Studios in 2011 and was shortlisted for The Charles Wintour Most Promising Playwright Award. This was followed in 2015 by another hit play at Hampstead Theatre, The Wasp, which also transferred to Trafalgar Studios. Other stage work includes commissions for The Old Vic, Clean Break and Firehouse Productions. She has co-written several acclaimed immersive site specific plays with Katie Lyons for Look Left Look Right and was part of the writing team for four of the Lyric Hammersmith's pantomimes from 2009-2012 and wrote (solo) the Bolton Octagon's Christmas plays for 2013 and 2014. In 2016 Morgan was selected for the BBC TV Drama Writers Programme.
