Johnson, Shelley: - Shelley was born in Columbus, Ohio and grew up in Worthington, Ohio with her parents, two sisters, and one brother. When she was seventeen and eighteen, she travelled to Brazil for two summers in a row on mission trips with her youth group. International travelling had officially begun to shape her world view and love for people all over the world. When she was nineteen, Shelley travelled to Africa on a mission trip with a group of college students from Grace College. She attended Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana and earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications. After college, Shelley lived in Taiwan for a year and taught English as a Second Language. She also travelled to Thailand and Hong Kong. She then returned to the states, soon got married and began her family. As a young mother, Shelley mostly stayed at home to raise her sons, but continued to teach and tutor English as a Second Language for a number of years. In 2001, she began investing in real estate. In 2003, she got her real estate license and became a Realtor. In January 2006, Shelley began her weight loss journey. By August 2006, she had lost 50 lbs., and came to know her seed of LOVE. By October 2007, Shelley had lost a total of 90 lbs. Shelley's Before & After photos were published in Oxygen Magazine which led her to pursue modeling. She signed with a professional talent agency and began acting and modeling in films and commercials. Her Before & After photos were published in numerous other magazines, including Woman's Day, Good Housekeeping, and Redbook, and her story was featured in New York Times Best-Seller, Your Best Body Now by Tosca Reno. In the summer of 2010, Shelley was delegated Mrs. Dublin, Ohio 2010, and competed as a state finalist in the Mrs. Ohio, America pageant. She received the Mrs. Ohio 2010 Career Achievement Award. She began to coach women by creating and founding The Losing Coach that same summer in 2010. She has been voted into the Reader's Choice Top 50 Online Weight Loss Coaches in the world. She has coached many successful, high-profile women, including celebrities, doctors, therapists, business owners, actresses, and models, all to successful weight loss. Shelley enjoys spending time with her sons, who are now adults, while continuing to coach women all over the world, using her process, to successful weight loss.
