Suitable for students at both 2-year and 4-year schools including adult learners, this text follows a step-by-step approach that guides students through the process of learning the skills necessary for college success.Linda Wong began her teaching career in the Springfield School District in Oregon after getting her MEd in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Oregon in 1970. Linda left the classroom after six years to create an educational consulting firm that involved self-publishing classroom activity booklets, adjunct teaching in the Northwest, and running a school supply store. She returned to the classroom in 1983 to begin a 22-year teaching career in Lane Community College's Academic Learning Skills Department in Eugene, Oregon. Linda taught developmental education and college study skills classes at Lane, as well as contributing to curriculum development projects, the Women's Transition Program, learning disability programs, and the campus Diversity Team. Linda retired in 2001 and moved to Las Vegas, where she worked as a substitute teacher at a charter school, provided individual tutoring for a family of five, and wrote training video scripts for online business courses.
Linda has remained active in education as an educational consultant, a national conference presenter, and the author of several textbooks. Linda began her career as a textbook writer in 1994 with the first edition of ESSENTIAL STUDY SKILLS, after various years of freelancing as a magazine article writer and a reviewer for several college textbook publishers. She's still producing textbooks and dabbling in other forms of writing. Linda is the mother of one son, Kailee, and four lovely grandchildren.
