Excavations at 33-35 Eastgate, Beverley 1983-86 by David H Evans
Report of excavations in an area immediately north-east of Beverley Minster, and bounded by the Dominican Priory. Its two-fold aims were to investigate the limits of the pre-Conquest settlement, and to examine the emergence of the Medieval street plan in this part of the town. Excavation revealed that the site overlay a natural pond which was only gradually filled. Subsequently the area saw continuous use for textile production and dyeing from as early as the late-eleventh century to the mid- to late-fourteenth century.| SKU | Unavailable |
