When Dan was 15, he was handed his first automobile, a 1972 Mk1 that is best described as a long-term effort. A 1971 Mexico, a 1600 Sport, and a range of other Fords, ranging from modern STs to a pair of RS Cosworths, currently share garage space with it.

Dan began his career as a newspaper reporter before transitioning to a career as a motoring journalist in 1997, where he worked for one of the UK's leading automotive publications, driving (and owning) several of the models included in this book. He currently works as an editor and contributor for a number of publications, including Fast Ford and Classic Ford. Dan lives in rural Lincolnshire and fantasizes about finding an RS1800 in a barn.
