Fashionable Queerness by Angelos Bollas

Author Angelos Bollas sheds light on the complex interplay between gender norms, media influence, and the construction of modern masculinity through his nuanced analysis of Timothee Chalamet and Paul Mescal, whose unique approach to self-presentation challenges traditional notions of masculinity.

Dr Angelos Bollas is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at Maynooth University. His research focuses on societal discrimination in relation to sexuality, cultural representations of masculinities, expressions of masculinities that challenge normative understandings of gender and sexuality, as well as pedagogical considerations around inclusion and diversity. He is the author of Contemporary Irish Masculinities (Routledge) and Sexualised Governmentalities (Springer).
