The Harvey Milk LGBT Democratic Club Individual Service Award was presented to her in 2005. Wann has served on the National Organization to Promote Fat Acceptance's board of directors and the Health at Every Size journal's advisory board. She is currently a member of the Fat Studies Journal's editorial board.
