The Louise Cobb Distinguished Author Award is offered in honor of an remarkable body of work that has influenced how we view ourselves and American culture in general. He's also one of the most well-known writing instructors in the country, teaching at a variety of conferences throughout the year. Bernhardt, a former prosecutor, has won numerous accolades for his public service. He and his wife, Marcia, and their children live in Tulsa.
