Their notions of dining include diet and the kitchen. Edgar and Edna enjoy regular meals in their living situation, Edna is the most involved in the cooking and kitchen duties. Their time is spent with regular enjoyment of food. In the course of many weeks, Edgar serves herbal teas and dishes to his friends; as years pass, Edna lectures on cooking. The general approach to the meals goes through various dishes, baking, cookie making and rolls, bread, and pretzels. Then the serious meat eaters' dishes are given attention. After lengthy herb tea presentations, the focus is on Thanksgiving and turkey, and that is followed by some pork recipes.
