For My Daughter by Armand Eisen

For My Daughter, which tells the magical story of confrontation and conflict between good and evil, occurs in contemporary Iran; inevitably, it implicitly narrates the bitterness and sweetness (if any) that is ongoing in Iran under the rule of the Islamic Republic. The protagonist throughout the story is a girl named Mahtab with a charming face, a pure and kind heart, full of intelligence, and iron will. It seems destiny has decided the delicate soul of this good and loving human to be squashed with the most shocking calamities and agonies and her life filled with the most heartbreaking sorrows and oppressions. It also seems destiny has a great goal and purpose from the path that has been set before her Since Mahtab is on the verge of human perfection, an angel appears to her who anonymously comes to her aid in the most dangerous moments... When she has been hardened like steel in the fire of battle with hardships and sufferings, and has reached the peak of evolution, the angel appears to her openly. After revealing the secrets of creation to her, she tells Mahtab that she has emerged victorious and proud from the difficult tests that were placed in her way. And he has been chosen by God for a very big mission After that, this angel is watching her throughout the story and in many cases, even saves her from the danger of death.

Mahtab suffered greatly in her first marriage, which was unfairly imposed on her after she was raped by an unknown person in the dark, which ended up her absolute misery in society. After all, her vile husband, who turned out to be the rapist, tried to kill her when his secret was revealed. But the guardian angel just arrives and kills him in a battle.

Arash Kamangir was a university lecturer in Iran. He was arrested and sentenced to 7 years imprisonment for his political anti-regime activities. After Dr Kamangir was released, he left the country due to the unbearable pressures of the regime on him. He has been living in exile since then in Europe. Arash has written several fantasy novels in Farsi; however, For My Daughter is his first fiction book in English, which is highly inspired by his hard life's experiences.

Arash Kamangir's purpose in writing this book is primarily to acquaint non-Iranian audiences with Iranian culture and social relations and a corner of the most horrible and full of oppression and discrimination imposed by Shia mullahs' regime on the majority of Iranian society, especially women. The feminist theme of the book reflects the author's profound tendency to defend the rights of oppressed Iranian women.
