Fundamentals of Mental Health Nursing by Victoria Clarke

This is a case-based, service user centred textbook for mental health nursing students to use throughout their pre-registration studies. The essential theory required for nursing care is explored alongside real service users' views and fictional cases providing excellent transferable skills for practice.
The knowledge base and skills necessary for mental health nurses undertaking pre-registration courses are clearly presented in this informative textThere are many texts recommended to mental health nurse students. If you can only afford one, go for this one. * Mental Health Practice, June 2009 *
I can't find anything to compare to this book, no other text has everything in one place. I just found the chapters so friendly and captivating - they inform my knowledge further...I can't wait to recommend this to student nurses. * Justin Watts, Student Nurse Mentor, employed within Plymouth Teaching Primary Care NHS Trust. *
I would recommend it as a main text for the mental health pre-reg branch programme. The text has been written in a consistent, user centred style with realistic scenarios which recognise the contemporary challenges of modern day mental health practice. * Dr Steve Tee, Senior Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing, Southampton University School of Nursing and Midwifery *
This book is extremely user friendly and very useful for new comers to the profession or those attempting to teach it. I recommend this book for all mental health nursing students to beg, borrow or buy. * Amazon.co.uk reviewer *
