Funk & Soul Covers. 40th Ed. by Joaquim Paulo

Psychedelia meets Black Power, sexual liberation meets social conscience, and street portraiture meets fantastical comic art in this epic volume of groove. Complete with cultural context, design analysis and interviews with key industry figures, the collection gathers more than 500 legendary record covers from a golden era of Black music.
“An essential record of the music, design and lifestyle of this era” * Der Standard *
“Iconic and long-forgotten album jackets… showing off the golden age of urban grooves.” * Boston Herald *
“This is about as funky as a chicken with Ray-Bans watching Ferris Bueller while starring in a Rick James video.” * Record Collector *
Joaquim Paulo is a consultant for major labels and directs a number of radio stations in Portugal.
