Betsy Bird is the Evanston Public Library's Collection Development Manager and a former Young Materials Specialist at the New York Public Library. Betsy writes reviews for Kirkus and was a member of the Newbery Prize committee in 2007. Her children's literature blog, A Fuse #8 Production, is sponsored by School Library Journal. Betsy is the author of the picture book Giant Dance Party (Greenwillow, 2013), which was illustrated by Brandon Dorman, and a co-author of the nonfiction book Wild Things: Acts of Mischief in Children's Fiction (Candlewick, 2014), which she co-wrote with Julie Danielson and Peter Sieruta.
