Gaithersburg by Shaun Curtis
With its roots as a small community known as Log Town in the 1750s, agriculture was the way of life for people in Gaithersburg. Today most of the farmland has been developed into shopping centers, businesses, and housing developments. With growth, Gaithersburg has become a center of science and technology in the United States.
Curtis, Shaun: - Author Shaun Curtis grew up in Gaithersburg and has always been intrigued by its history. He has met with countless residents to record stories and collect old pictures. As a photographer, he has spent years documenting the abandoned remnants of Montgomery County's past. In 2008, Curtis created a website dedicated to Gaithersburg's history, and he published his first book on the subject in 2010. This second volume expands the areas of interest to include places around Gaithersburg.
